With a short stay in Vancouver before our trip through the Rockies, we wandered the quirky streets of Gastown before heading to the Vancouver convention centre where we watched seaplanes coming in for landing & the views of North Vancouver across the waterway. We took the lift up the Vancouver Lookout Tower for spectacular views of the city at sunset then went for dinner at the Spaghetti Factory in Gastown.

Hiring bikes (after convincing Wade not to get tandem bikes) we cycled the beautiful Stanley Park passing under Lions Gate Bridge, watching locals as they partied and sunbathed on what must be Vancouver’s version of a beach. The weather was beautiful and we saw so many squirrels. We booked a transfer to Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver, which I recommend if you have spare time in the city to explore suspension bridges, cliff walk experience, treetop adventures and a sweet shop for some fudge.
